2. Au passé
On peut utiliser les auxiliaires modaux avec have au présent + participe passé pour exprimer des hypothèses plus ou moins probables à propos d'événements passés.
I can't go on the Internet.

The server must have crashed again.
\bullet Très faible probabilité
They might have turned off the Wi-Fi.

Must, can, may et might sont des auxiliaires modaux. Ils sont donc suivis d'une base verbale et sont invariables. Ils peuvent exprimer différentes modalités, comme la capacité, l'obligation, l'interdiction, la probabilité, etc.
Could est la forme passée de can et might la forme passée de may ! Mais ici, elles sont employées au présent.
