préposition de temps
Les principales prépositions de temps sont : Ex. : You weren't here at 9. (Tu n'étais pas là à 9 heures.) Ex. : The Beatles composed all their songs in the sixties. (Les Beatles ont composé toutes leurs chansons dans les années 60.) Ex. : Can you come on Friday? (Peux-tu venir vendredi ?)
  • during (« pendant », « durant », « au cours de ») ;
Ex. : Supporters shout a lot during a baseball match. (Les supporters crient beaucoup pendant un match de base-ball.)
  • after (« après ») ;
Ex. : We're going to the swimming pool after school. (Nous allons à la piscine après l'école.)
  • before (« avant ») ;
Ex. : I'll be back before midnight. (Je serai de retour avant minuit.)
  • until, till (« jusqu'à », « avant ») ;
Ex. : We'll play until six o'clok. (Nous jouerons jusqu'à six heures.)
  • since (« depuis » + mention d'une date) ;
Ex. : We have lived here since 2001. (Nous habitons ici depuis 2001.)
  • for (« pour », « pendant », « depuis » + mention d'une durée).
Ex. : Kelly has been working on this project for three years. (Kelly travaille sur ce projet depuis trois ans.)
